And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. |

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. |

And the evening and the morning were the third day. |

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: |
here are those who feel that the sun and the moon were actually made on the first day but they did not shine directly upon the earth until the fourth day;
You recall that Jesus himself said, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world," (John 9:5 RSV).

9Dieu dit神說
: Que les eaux qui sont au-dessous du ciel se rassemblent en un seul lieu, et que le sec paraisse. Et cela fut ainsi.
神 說 、 天 下 的 水要 聚 在 一 處 、 使 旱 地 露 出 來 ． 事 就 這 樣 成 了 。
10 Dieu appela le sec terre地, et il appela l'amas des eaux mers海. Dieu神 vit que cela était bon好.
神 稱 旱 地 為 地 、稱 水 的 聚 處 為 海 ． 神 看 著 是 好 的 。
11 Puis Dieu dit: Que la terre地 produise de la verdure, de l'herbe藥草 portant de la semence, des arbres樹 fruitiers果 donnant du fruit selon leur espèce et ayant en eux leur semence sur la terre. Et cela fut ainsi.

12 La terre produisit de la verdure草, de l'herbe portant de la semence selon son espèce, et des arbres 樹donnant du fruit結果 et ayant en eux leur semence selon leur espèce種子. Dieu vit que cela était bon.
於 是 地 發 生 了 青草 、 和 結 種 子 的 菜 蔬 、 各 從 其 類 、 並 結 果 子 的 樹 木 、 各 從 其 類 、 果 子 都 包 著 核 。 神 看 著 是好 的 ．
13 Ainsi, il y eut un soir晚上, et il y eut un matin白天: ce fut le troisième第三 jour天.
有 晚 上 、 有 早 晨 、 是 第 三 日 。
14 Dieu dit: Qu'il y ait des luminaires光體 dans l'étendue du ciel天空, pour séparer le jour日 d'avec la nuit夜; que ce soient des signes pour marquer les époques, les jours et les années;
