上大學的第一堂課，教我們西洋中古史的王芝芝老師說，聖經的英文是很美的英文，也是學英文很重要的一環。我一直到現在，才開始品味。

Let there be light。

上帝說，要有光。

安蘭老師向大家介紹印度詩人泰戈爾的詩，他的詩總讓我看到上帝創造的美好與奇妙，也在他的詩中，看到生命的光彩，那是上帝之光。

Stray birds of summer come to my window to sing and fly away.

And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, flutter and fall there with a sign.

夏天的漂鳥飛來我的窗前歌唱又飛走了.而那無歌的,秋天的黃葉,隨風飄落以

一聲歎息.

The mystery of creation is like the darkness of night---it is great

Delusions of knoweledge are like the fog of morning.

造物的神秘如同黑夜一般----偉大

知識的幻覺猶如晨霧.

What you are you do not see, what you see is your shadow

其實你根本看不清你真實的面目,你所看到的只是你的影子.

That I exist is a perpetual surprise which is life

我的存在是一個永恆的驚喜, 生命本就是驚喜.

The light that plays,like a naked child,among green leaves happily knows not that man can lie

陽光在綠葉間嬉戲像赤子一般.多麼幸福啊,它不知人世的虛詐.

His own mornings are new surprise to God.

祂所創造的每一個清晨,對自己都是新的驚喜.

Life finds its wealth by the claims of the world, and its worth by the claims of love.

生命因為世人的需求而豐饒富有,因為愛的需求而發現它的價值.

The dry river-bed finds no thanks for its past.

乾凅的河床無法從它的過去尋找出感謝.

The bird wishes it were a cloud.

The cloud wishes it were a bird

鳥兒但願牠是一片雲

雲彩但願它是一隻鳥.

The waterfall sings, ”I find my song,when I find my freedom.”

瀑布唱著:當我發現到我的自由也是我尋著我的歌的時候.

The world rushes on over the strings of the lingering heart making the music of sadness.

這世界摧迫著倉惶的心弦,它創作起憂傷的樂曲

God finds himself by creating.
